Rayform

Rayform vs NVIDIA NuRec

Free libraries to reconstruct a scene for Isaac Sim, versus a managed service that reconstructs, aligns, labels and serves all your recordings.

What NVIDIA NuRec does.

Omniverse NuRec reconstructs scenes from camera or LiDAR data into Gaussian-splat scenes packaged as OpenUSD, and Isaac Sim renders them. 3DGRUT, NVIDIA's open-source trainer, exports scenes in the format Isaac Sim reads.

They work together. We plan to export reconstructed scenes in a form NuRec and Isaac Sim can load, so your processed recordings drop into Isaac.

Where they are strong

  • Free, with an open-source trainer.
  • Built into Isaac Sim.
  • Handles distorted and wide-angle cameras.

How Rayform differs

  • NuRec is a set of libraries you run yourself, one scene at a time. Rayform runs reconstruction as a service across every recording you upload.
  • Rayform keeps the reconstruction aligned with your sensor logs and robot state, labels interactions, and makes everything searchable.

Choose NVIDIA NuRec when

  • You have a few scenes, the GPUs and the people to run reconstruction, and you only need them in Isaac Sim.

Choose Rayform when

  • You have many recordings and want them processed the same way, every time.
  • You need training data, not only simulation scenes.
